Hailing from Philadelphia, F1LTHY founded producer collective “Working on Dying” (with his younger brother Oogie Mane), often attributed with creating the rap sub-genre tread.
F1LTHY is the record producer who played an integral role in pioneering the sound of Playboi Carti’s label ‘Opium’. Musically, Opium share a similar sound, with dark, gritty, and avant-garde synths mixed into a rage beat reminiscent of the 70s and 80s punk rock era. This experimental sound strays away from the current trap/hip-hop genre and has garnered its own cult-like fanbase.
